Description: Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens.
We pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them—without believing, for instance, that there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to think or feel in a given moment. When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we’re sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.
In honor of Valentine’s Day we will practice mindfulness by mindfully focusing and meditating (and eating!) vegan chocolate. Tea will also be served.
When: Saturday, December 29, 12-2 pm
Investment: $25 paid before December 21, $30 after
Description: We will study Sankalpa. Sankalpa is the sanskrit word for intention. In this workshop you will be led in a meditation creating an intention to let go of what no longer serves you. In a moment of peace you will write these things down. Together we will let them go by burning them and releasing them into the Universe. You will then meditate on new intentions that you want to cultivate for yourself, followed by another writing exercise. Although we will be in a group setting, the writings and thoughts are private and will not be shared. Time permitting we may conclude with Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep).
